Is Skinrock really natural stone?
Yes, the umbrella term is natural stone veneer.
Is Skinrock resistant to frost?
Yes, pursuant to SIA 262/1:2013.
Can Skinrock be used outdoors?
Skinrock can be used outdoors. However, we generally recommend a veneer size of maximum 1 m2. Larger Skinrock veneers can be used, depending on the project. Your local partner will be more than happy to help you in this respect.
Can Skinrock be bent?
Skinrock is flexible and bends. A rule of thumb recommends a radius of approx. 20 cm. Slate is more flexible than quartzite.
Can Skinrock be backlit?
Yes. Slate is more translucent than quartzite. Where possible, we recommend installation of the light source with a clearance of at least 10 cm from the Skinrock veneer.
Can Skinrock be laid on the floor?
Skinrock can be laid as flooring in homes without reservations.
Can Skinrock be used in the pool?
Generally speaking, Skinrock can also be used in a swimming pool. Please contact your local partner in this respect.
Can Skinrock be removed again?
Yes. Special tools need to be used for this purpose.
What slip resistance does Skinrock have?
Skinrock has a very high slip resistance. Slip resistance value: R12.
Can Skinrock veneers also be replaced?
Skinrock veneers can be replaced by specialist firms.
Is Skinrock waterproof?
No, but Skinrock is more watertight than conventional natural stone veneers.
Can Skinrock be laid on every substrate?
Yes, provided the substrate is stable, cleaned, level and free of dust.
How can Skinrock be cut?
Suitable cutting tools are angle grinders, moulders, routers, Striebig cutting technology, wet millers. The prerequisite for this is a suitable cutting blade.
What kind of blades can I use to cut Skinrock?
A diamond blade.
How long is Skinrock guaranteed?
The system guarantee is 10 years.
Is Skinrock fireproof?
No, the DIN 4102 building materials class is B2.
Can Skinrock also be fitted to the ceiling?
Skinrock can be fitted to the ceiling without reservations. It is easy to fit thanks to its low weight.
Can Skinrock be used with underfloor heating?
Skinrock can be used with underfloor heating without reservations.
Can Skinrock also be used in kitchen construction?
Yes. We recommend waterproofing the product after fitting. Our Skinrock Protect Premium impregnation is food safe.
Can Skinrock be laid on old tiles?
Yes, provided the substrate is stable, cleaned, level and free of dust.
How can Skinrock be disposed of?
In construction waste.
Do Skinrock construction systems exist?
Yes. Façade elements and partition walls for outdoors are currently available.
Can Skinrock be used for a hearth or bordering a stove?
Yes. Skinrock can be used up to 140°C. However, it should not be used on an open fireplace. Only for cladding.
Is grouting obligatory when laying Skinrock?
Generally not, but we recommend 3 mm grouting.
Where can Skinrock be obtained?
Is Skinrock also available in other stone types?
Yes, sandstone, marble and travertine are being developed.
Is Skinrock available with a polished surface?
Yes, Skinrock “Luxury”.
Does Skinrock "Luxury" have the same properties as basic Skinrock?
No. Skinrock “Luxury” should only be laid by certified specialist firms.
